Buyer beware!!

Similar to other reviewers on Trustpilot, my experience buying a bed frame from Blu Dot was a disaster. All I can say is buyer beware. The bed is constructed out of numerous pieces that fit together like a puzzle; think of building something from IKEA, only way worse. Poor design: screws connecting pieces together popped through the veneer; drawers don’t close fully; and the bed makes squeaky noises with the slightest movements.
— Warning: there is virtually no way to disassemble and reassemble one of these beds because the materials used on the internal structure are so cheap that they are starting to break from normal use in 2 1/2 years; pretty crazy at a price of $2500. I suggest looking at Room and Board, where there is real customer service, including a one-year no-questions return policy.
While some of their furniture, such as chairs may be attractive and well designed, I suggest testing anything very carefully in one of their show rooms. Reading the positive reviews on this site, one notices they deal with simple pieces of furniture and small household items, all of which are much less challenging to manufacture correctly.
(The delivery company Blu Dot contracts with is downright scary in my experience, but that’s another story)

POOR CONSTRUCTION TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE

I bought I bed frame from here in Dec 2017. (delivered Jan 2018) The platform snapped from the headboard in Sept 1st 2020. If you spend $2000 on a bed it should last longer than 2 years 8 months. Really any bed frame at any price point should last longer than this. The bed was not subjected to any unusual wear and tear. It was delivered and installed by blu dot and was not moved or taken apart or anything during the time we had it. It snapped when we moved it a few inches to get to a plug behind the bed.
The disappointing part was the customer service. I emailed blu dot when the bed broke and they had gotten back to me within 24 hours. I explained the situation and was just inquiring if we had any options. I was hoping they might be able to replace the broken part, or maybe give us a discount on a new frame, or even just put us in contact with someone who could repair it. A few emails were exchanged and they were very responsive. Amanda Harris was helping me and asked me to send her pictures which I did. At this point there was no response. I emailed them several times, no response. I submitted a new customer service request, no response. I called them, and they insisted that Amanda would get back to me within 24 hours, no response. Since then, when I call they never answer, unless I call from a different phone number. YES!!! They are screening their calls and avoiding my phone number. I finally reached out to a friend of mine that works for a website that sells their products. Guess who finally called me back! (Another customer service representative, not Amanda) The final result.... "It has been too long and the product is not longer under warranty" and they can't do anything about it. No discount on a new bed. No contact or recommendation on how to get it fixed. Just an offer to buy a new one... Is this a joke???? 2 years and 8 months..... no longer under warranty. They said it was purchased in 2017 and it is now 2021. Not taking into consideration it was delivered in 2018 and it took the 6 months and 22 days to respond to my original request of when it broke. I'm not even that upset about the bed. I understand things happen. I also understand that are not be able to remedy the situation, however the lack of response for 6 months and 22 days is unacceptable. Really poor customer service!! And poor quality product.
DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY!

Be careful with returns!!!!

Bought a bench for my front foyer Online and unfortunately it didn’t work for the space! I had no significant issues sending it back but the whole experience cost me over 200.00 off my original purchase to return it!!!. Very disappointed with this experience!!

Great merchandise, excellent customer support

Bought lots of stuff from Blue Dot--metal trays, ottomans, table--and everything is good quality and nice looking. Recently I had to contact customer service over an inaccurate tracking number and Nate was wonderful. He actually answered the phone, no horrible voice menu. He was super sweet. And he got back to me as promised in email, then promptly resolved the issue. Customer support is important. Very pleased with it for this business.
